Starting its life as a humble distributor of fertiliser in to the retail garden centre sector, Horticom has come a long way. During the 1990’s, the focus was to transition the business from allied garden products such as fertiliser and seed towards general merchandise garden product. This allowed the business to hunt for trends and new category opportunities to bring to market. It was during this period that global sourcing strengthened and further opportunities became evident.
Horticom is no stranger to launching new categories, and it was between 2000 and 2005 that the business stepped up their strategy to diversify beyond garden. Towards the end of that period stars began to align and Horticom became a true multi-category supplier.
To this day gardening remains central to our business, and we now offer programs to our retail partners across garden, storage, cleaning and electrical. Our stable of brands is a mix of easily identified household names alongside strong newcomers that we are excited to represent.
Horticom continues to invest in its success by expanding the size and skills of its field and support teams. This is integral to our desire to remain a supplier that brings value to the relationship. We are continually evaluating our value-added functions to ensure they align with the strategies of our retail partners.

We take great pride in being a preferred supplier to New Zealand’s leading Hardware chains, Independent Garden Centres and Variety Stores. Doing things ‘The Horticom Way’ means we spend a lot of time in stores and working with our customers, alongside their teams, ensuring opportunities are maximised to display and sell our products. Our range is fully supported by our professional team of Territory Managers, Key Account Managers, Customer Services and Project Coordinators, ensuring there is always someone available to assist.
